Japan has issued a tsunami warning for coastal areas near the southern prefecture of Okinawa, after a earthquake with preliminary magnitude of 7.5 struck off the southwestern coast, the country’s national broadcaster has reported.

Japan’s Meteorological Agency issued the warning for the main Okinawa Island and Miyakojima and Yaeyama islands, NHK said.
